this is what I made for my third rotation of inquiry, I did Africa this time and made a website, my last post explains how the rotations work if you are wondering. 

Japanese Art slide

for inquiry, we have been looking at different cultures of art, we have been doing different rotations each week, this week we looked at Japanese art, we got to pick out 3 of our favourite styles of  Japanese art and make a slide about each one, these were my three favourites. 

The Race Against Time

This is what we have been doing this term for literacy, we are creating a short movie, this is our script

Plot- 

Two young girls race against time in order to stop a tragic global warming incident that could have catastrophic consequences for the earth, however, they quickly learn that every move they make could have a disastrous outcome.

Chloe: Kasey

Edward Heath: Mia’s Dad

Sammies Mum: Mia’s Mum

Both girls sitting on their phones on the bed and camera is by the door.

Mia’s Mum, from out of view, yelling: “Sam and Chloe can you grab the chicken eggs?”

The girls, yelling: “Okay!”

Camera following behind the girls while they are walking to the chicken coop.

C: “You know what is really scary?

S: “What?”

C: “Global warming will take over in 20 years”

S: “Really?”

C: “Yeah look”

*shows the phone to mia*

S: “Woah”

The camera is behind the girls’ shoulders when they open up the egg container.

A note is sitting on an egg.

C: “What’s that??”

S: “I don’t know!”

C: “It says “you’ll be back in two hours”

S: “ What does that mean?”

*picks note up at the same time and screen turns black*

*starring Kasey and Mia comes up on the screen then the title comes 

*fades into a shot from in front*

The camera is in front of the girls and the sign is behind them. 

S: “Where are we?”

C: “I don’t know, let’s look around.”

S: “Look at that sign! It says it is the year 1971!

C: “Your kidding!” turns around to read the sign out loud, elect Edward Heath for Prime Minister, 1972.

S: So does that mean we time travelled!?

C: I think so!

S: Has a face of realization, Chloe!!

C: What?:

S: We could stop global!

C: Oh my god, we could!

S: correction we should.

C: Okay!

S: We need to find the prime minister Edward Heath before our 2 hours is up.

C: What two hours?

S: The note said we’ll be back in two hours.

C: Oh.

S: Well let's go find Edward Heath and tell him about our planet and hope he believes us.

C: Ok

Girls start walking down the road and looking around. Camera following them.

S: “Looking down and doubtful, I hope we can find him.”

C: “Has phone out, my Mario Kart isn’t working!!”

S: *In a sarcastic voice* “I wonder why”

C: “Well I’m gonna go get wifi.”

S: * Grab’s arm* “stay with me and put the phone away, your phone hasn’t been invented yet! If people see it they will get suspicious.”

C: “Oh, sorry. WAIT is that Edward Heath!” The camera moves so that he is in the shot.

S: “I think so, we should tell him what’s happening!”

C: “Ok come on.”

*Walks over and Camera follows* 

S: “Hi are you, Edward Heath?”

E: “I sure am!!”

C: “Can you keep a secret to save the world”

E: “Sure what is it? Make it quick.”

S: “Ok, so we’re from the future and the world is ending due to plastic and air pollution!”

C: “You need to make a change!”

E: “You girls need to go home, I don’t know what kind of joke this is but plastic can not harm the earth and time travel is just simply not possible!”

C: “Well when the world ends just know that you could have saved it and this will be your fault.”

E: “Well I’m not buying your shenanigans and I’m just going to call the plastic factory to make more and make it cheaper, now you little girls go back to whatever “year” you told me you were from and see that it is not any different from when you were there before.”

Both girls: “NOOOO”

Looking smug and flicks them off.

Still yelling the screen fades and so does the sound.

They  time travel back 

*Time travels back to nothing*

S: “Where is everything”

C: “Gone.”

S: We are too late

* Screen turns black

Easttle Sample Writing

This is my practice piece for my Easttle sample writing, I didn't get even close to finishing it but here's something anyway.

The Day Things Started Disappearing

Hail violently splattered against the window as a single raindrop dripped from the ceiling and into a dark blue bucket across the room “Mum!? We need to need a new bucket, this one is basically full” “then get one your self Sophia” Sophia sighed before standing up and walking over to the bucket, she picked it up, it felt heavy, she stood in a ring of water that the bucket had left behind and slipped over, spilling the water everywhere and soaking her hoodie and jeans in the water, she sighed and she rested her head in the water getting her hair wet now too as a drip of water landed on her forehead. Later that night Sophia and her mum sat down for dinner “do you really have to keep the divorce papers all over the table while we eat dinner?” Sophia asked, “its kinda depressing ya know?” “well, where else am I supposed to put them?” Sophia’s mum said in a slightly agitated voice 

“I’m sorry I’m just upset about your dad and I’s divorce” she apologised

“Hey wheres Baxter?” “I’m not sure” “Baxter!?” they Both yelled, a big black dog walked at a slow pace into the room “hey buddy” Sophia said to him as she reached out to pat  him on the head, he started wagging his tail “I have to go out to the shops to get some groceries” Said Sophia’s mum as she got up and put on a big yellow jacket “okay, see you” Sophia’s mum grabbed keys and opened the door “Hey, stay safe, don’t let anyone in okay?” “I’m sixteen I have been home alone hundreds of times, I will be fine” “okay bye honey I will be back in thirty” she said before shutting the door behind her.

Math

Today we had to draw something out of cubes and triangle's for math, I drew something that looks like a  dragon or dinosaur.

My Colouring in of Tane Mahuta

For maori on last friday and this friday we have been coloring a picture of the maori god of our choice, I chose to do Tane Mahuta, the god of forest's.
